Wirral News backs Quit Stop Wirral campaign

Quit Stop Wirral

IN WIRRAL it is estimated that two people a day die as a result of smoking.

That’s someone’s mum, dad, brother, sister, grandma, granddad, son or daughter.

Nearly all of us will know someone, or of someone, who has struggled against smoking-related diseases. And sometimes lost that battle. Lots of us – me included – have known about the risks of smoking, but have struggled to give up.

Now there is help on the horizon for smokers in east Wirral... the Quit Stop Wirral campaign, run by NHS Wirral.

The Wirral News has given the campaign its full backing... and together we hope to encourage at least 5,000 of you to pack in the habit by March next year. NHS Wirral and Corporate Culture have developed an innovative campaign to reach out to those smokers who have historically resisted previous stop smoking campaigns and not accessed traditional NHS Stop Smoking Services.

Over the next six months the News will give the campaign its 100 per cent backing... and will be there for you, too, the readers, to tell your stories.

If you’re struggling to stub it out, together we‘ll help you do it.
