Investigation into Wirral horror crash will ‘study all factors’

THE investigation into the horrific car crash which claimed the lives of four friends will study every factor of the circumstances leading up to it.

John Aston, 19, Michaela Favager, 19, Eddie Smith, 19, and Gillian Fowle, 43, died instantly after the Vauxhall Tigra they were travelling in went out of control on Chester High Road on Sunday morning.

Last night it was confirmed that John was driving the car, Michaela was sitting in the front passenger seat and Eddie and Gillian were in the back.

Pictures of Eddie and Gillian have been now been made public for the first time.

Gillian worked at The Brewers Arms pub in Neston together with John which was a popular drinking spot for Michaela and Eddie.

Cheshire Police are continuing their investigations into the crash which happened on a road well known for serious collisions.

No other car was involved in the crash at around 2am as the group travelled back to Neston from a night out in Chester.

Some residents believe a medium-sized pothole in the road caused the car to flip and smash roof-first into a tree, ejecting one of the woman from the vehicle.

Cheshire West and Chester council has confirmed it has begun its own inquiry.
