Ellesmere Port and Neston council honours stars of Youth Games

ELLESMERE Port and Neston Borough Council honoured the achievements of its Cheshire and Warrington Partnership Youth Games team at a special celebration night.

The council took more than 60 young people and volunteers to the event at Macclesfield Leisure Centre on October 11.

There were teams for competitions in basketball, badminton and cheerleading.

All participants have been presented with certificates and medals and two competitors - Nathalie Primrose and Scott Devoy - received special recognition awards for their performance on the day.

Youth sport development officer Michelle Aspden said: “Special thanks need to be given to our sponsors Shell UK who provided the funding for everything from the taster activities this summer to our fabulous celebration event in October.

“Thanks also to all the volunteers who came from local clubs. Without their support the borough would not have been able to submit a team or deliver the activities they did.”
