Stanney Fields Park set for glorious spring daffodil display

STANNEY Fields Park is all set for spring, thanks to the hard work of community groups.

Brownies from the 4th Ness group visited the park recently to help the Friends of Stanney Fields Park to plant daffodil bulbs.

Funding for the project came from Cheshire Year of Gardens 08.

Scott Mealor, chairman of the Friends of Stanney Fields Park, said: “The Friends of Stanney Fields Park are delighted to be joining the celebrations of Cheshire Year of Gardens 08 by enhancing the park with a variety of daffodils which will provide a beautiful spring display next year.”

Helen Carey, chairman of Cheshire’s Year of Gardens community grants panel, said: “This project demonstrates just how much commitment, time and effort volunteers are putting in and it’s a great example of how people can make a real difference.”
