Marie Curie charity lunch at Thornton Hall Hotel

THE first Marie Curie Cancer Care ladies lunch takes place at Thornton Hall Hotel on Thursday, May 15.

Ron Hutchinson will be guest speaker who will give a light-hearted talk entitled My Global Adventures and relate some of the fun and games on his worldwide charity challenges.

Lunch will be served at 12.30pm but there will be an opportunity to buy gifts from 11.30am onwards.

Tickets are £24 and all proceeds will be used to support the local Marie Curie nurses who give practical nursing care to patients in their own homes, 24 hours a day, free of charge.

This year Marie Curie Cancer Care is marking 60 years of caring for terminally ill cancer patients and will use its anniversary to campaign to double the number of people it cares for, provide more free care and raise more funds to support its work.
