Taking pride in South Wirral postcode

SOUTH Wirral residents are being urged to take pride in the area’s achievements - and join a week of CH64 celebrations.

A ‘Citizens’ week, from March 8 to 15, has been organised by ch64inc to bring together people living in the area – incoporating Burton, Little Neston, Ness, Parkgate, Neston, and Willaston – to showcase all things good in the area.

Events over the week include ‘CH64, Past, Present and Future’ on March 8, which will feature various speakers from the council and other local associations.

There will also be a sponsored eight-mile walk on March 9, followed by a Voluntary Organisations and Volunteering Fair on March 13, from 2pm-8pm, at the Civic Hall, Neston.

Robin Hughes of ch64inc. said: “This will be the biggest event for 2008 in the Neston area.

“Citizens Week is about neighbourliness and pride in being a citizen of CH64.”

Recent successes for Neston include Stanney Fields Park being awarded the coveted Green Flag award, while Neston and Little Neston were runners-up in the Cheshire Community Pride competition.

The finale to the week will be a drama and soul night taking place on March 15,between 7.30 and 11.30pm at the Civic Hall.

The night will include a drama performance celebrating life in Neston. Tickets are £5 including food from 336 3758 or email citizenweek@talktalk.net
