Neston elderly targeted by burglars

POLICE believe three distraction burglaries in the past fortnight in Neston and Little Neston could be linked.

PC Mike Lockett said: “In each case the victims have been elderly.

“The suspects visited in twos and threes claiming to be water authority employees investigating leaks and burst pipes. It is possible they spoke with Irish accents.

“They wore smart business-type clothing and possibly drove a dark blue BMW 3 Series.”

PC Lockett added: “These are despicable crimes, but can be avoided. I would ask all residents to be vigilant and exercise caution when answering the door, particularly if they are not expecting anyone to call.”
