Reward in hunt for Wirral bank robbers

UP TO £25,000 is being offered as a reward to anyone who can provide information about a robbery at a Wirral bank.

Three men wearing dark clothing and balaclavas threatened staff and assaulted a security guard in Lloyds TSB, Hoylake Road, Moreton Cross.

They made off with a large amount of cash during the robbery on 11.30am on Tuesday, October 6.

The security guard suffered injuries to his face and shoulder and was taken to hospital, but he has since been discharged.

Lloyds TSB are now putting up the cash to help trace the offenders.

Detective Inspector Neil Shaw, from the Matrix Robbery team, said: "This was a particularly nasty robbery and it's fortunate that no-one was more seriously injured.”

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a silver coloured Audi A4 type car in the Bidston area just after the attack.
