Hoylake Cottage Hospital cay care centre plans approved

Chief executive Lin Cooke added: “The need for day care for our clients is growing all the time, particularly for people with dementia.”

A fundraising committee of volunteers is working with staff to secure the support of the local community to raise the funds.

It is hoped building work will start in 2012 and the new centre will open the following year.

Fundraising director Helen Latham said: “At present, day care is provided in the Victorian, original Hoylake Cottage building; both for frail elderly people and in a separate area, for those with dementia.

“Our staff provide a fantastic programme of activities and clients really enjoy their days with us while their carers enjoy a little respite. “We will be able to do so much more when we build a centre with space and with modern facilities.

“I would like to appeal to the local community to help us to realise our vision of offering the best possible service for older people.”
