Merseyside trio pass first two stages of Ultra marathon attempt on all seven continents in a week

Marathon runners Jack Jones, Stuart Kershaw and Oliver Dudley

A TRIO attempting to run seven “ultra” marathons on all seven continents in a week successfully completed their second race yesterday.

Oliver Dudley, from Woolton; Stuart Kershaw, from Formby, and Jack Jones, from Hoylake, have the Antarctic and South American legs of the challenge under their belt.

They set off yesterday, tackling the first 50km (30-mile) stint and then flying to Chile and running the same distance again.

The team will arrive in Los Angeles tomorrow for the third leg as their bid to set a new world record continues.

Their route will then take them to Sydney in Australia, Hong Kong, Johannesburg in South Africa and London.

The formidable team are aiming to raise £200,000 for their chosen charities Kids Company, Isaacs House and Hoylake Cottage Hospital.
