£7m Hoylake King’s Gap Hotel redevelopment is approved by planners

£7M proposals to redevelop Hoylake’s King’s Gap Hotel were approved by planners last week.

The owners say the plans will see the original hotel building provide the centrepiece for a “dramatic new development”.

The new-look hotel will have 66 boutique hotel rooms, a brasserie restaurant, library bar and function room catering for 100 people.

Cllr David Elderton, chairman of Wirral Council’s planning committee, said the proposals represented “exactly what Wirral and Hoylake need to take tourism and regeneration of the area forward”.

Work on the development is due to start early next year.

Adam Hall, from Falconer Chester Hall Architects, which is responsible for the new design, said: “My practice is delighted to be involved with the scheme, which has given the opportunity to create an exciting contemporary addition to the conservation area around the King’s Gap.”
