WEST Kirby-born milliner Stephen Jones - who designed hats for Madonna and the Princess of Wales among others - will receive a prestigious award at tonight's British Fashion "Oscars" ceremony.
Jones, 51, who is now based in London, will receive the Outstanding Achievement Award in recognition of his three-decade career.
He burst on to the London fashion scene during the early days of the New Romantic era while still a student at St Martin's school of art.
The special award is in recognition of a "designer whose work has had an exceptional impact on global fashion".
