Hoylake and Meols Slimming World group raises cash for Hoylake Cottage

SLIMMERS are losing pounds to raise pounds for Hoylake Cottage.

Members of Hoylake and Meols Slimming World Group have pledged to raise funds through sponsorship for every pound they lose.

They launched their Pound for Pound Appeal at a curry night which raised more than £200 for Hoylake Cottage, a centre for older people run by a charitable trust.

Slimming World consultant Cathy Condron said: “I have lost a stone in weight and at the same time have been pleased to raise awareness of Hoylake Cottage through the Pound for Pound Appeal.”

Helen Mooney, who attends the group, said: “In the run-up to Christmas, there’s never been a better time to lose weight and the class is buzzing right now, full of inspiration and ideas.

“With the support of my class members, I’ve lost ten pounds in weight and raised more than £100 so far for Hoylake Cottage.”
