VOLUNTEERS who have staffed the reception desk of Hoylake Cottage for more than 20 years were the stars of a special lunch.
Around 50 members of the League of Friends were thanked for their service at the event at King’s Gap Hotel.
The lunch marked the end of reception duties for the volunteers after the opening of a new care home by Hoylake Cottage.
League reception desk co-ordinator, Dorothy Howell, explained: “After more than 20 years of staffing the reception in the old building, we felt we should thank our volunteers for their service.”
The lunch was attended by League of Friends president Peter Morris, chairman George Read and Hoylake Cottage chief executive, Lin Cooke.
Mrs Cooke said: “I would like to say a very big thank you on behalf of Hoylake Cottage for the work of the League of Friends over the years.
“I am looking forward to their continued support in our new care home which will be highly valued and welcomed by all staff and residents.”
