FOLLOWING concern from elderly residents in Wirral Partnership Homes sheltered housing schemes, Wirral West MP Stephen Hesford is to investigate a decision to demolish four schemes within the next three to five years.
The schemes under threat are Hoose Court in Hoylake, Ashton Court and Bridge Court in West Kirby and Barleyfield Court in Pensby. Around 150 residents will be affected.
At an emergency meeting with Wirral Partnership Homes, Mr Hesford said the first he knew about the proposals was when residents from Hoose Court went to constituency surgeries in March.
He said there had been no proper consultation and that the proposals had left residents with an uncertain future.
Mr Hesford added: “This whole business has been very badly planned and I am very angry at what has happened.
“I am now going to go through all the paperwork involved in the process with a view to having this premature decision reviewed.”
