Model behaviour at West Kirby school

MODEL Jen Hunter visited Year 10 pupils at West Kirby Grammar on Thursday to talk to them about the pressure to grow up thin.

Wiganer Jen astounded judges on Channel 5 show Make Me A Supermodel by winning the public vote ahead of her more stereotypically sized competitors, before going on to launch a successful career.

The size 12 spoke to the 25 teenage girls about her experiences inside and outside the industry, but was sceptical about France’s decision to slap a two year prison sentence and £24,000 fine on anybody “encouraging excessive thinness”.

Jen, 25, said: “I think they’re great words but it would do a lot more good to put something out there with clear guidelines, than make an aggressive statement that seems impossible to police.”
