Hoylake and West Kirby residents warned to lock up garages

THIEVES are targeting sheds and garages in Hoylake and West Kirby.

A number of burglaries have taken place over the past few weeks, with padlocks being forced or cut off to gain access.

Bikes, gardening and boating equipment have all been stolen.

Hoylake Neighbourhood Inspector Greg Lambert said: “Residents need to be extra vigilant.

“If you have a shed or garage, please make sure you lock and secure them and, if possible, invest in some sort of security device such as an alarm - these are a deterrent to the potential thief.”
