A WOMAN who has become a “beacon of hope” for many in pain and distress is the latest person to be nominated as one of Your Champions.
The Wirral News has joined forces with ScottishPower to host Your Champions 2009, which lets us pay tribute to those who make a difference in our area.
Sue Strafford-Binks, of Upton, pictured left, is a volunteer for the national charity Fibromyalgia Association UK.
Fibromyalgia is a medical condition as common as rheumatoid arthritis, but awareness, even in the medical profession is low.
But thanks to people like Sue, who works with medical professionals, MPs and MEPs, awareness is improving.
She has set up many positive support groups to help hundreds of people suffering from this disabling condition
Jaki Quick, who nominated Sue for Your Champions, said: “All she ever wants to do is help others suffering Fibromyalgia.
“We can’t thank Sue enough for her support and inspiration to help us live fuller lives.”
Our heroes and heroines will be honoured at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Friday, November 6, in Chester. To vote for yours, fill in the coupon.
