A WIRRAL brewery has stepped in to sponsor the borough’s food and drink festival – and will launch its latest beer at the event.
Betwixt Beer Company will mark its sponsorship of this year’s Wirral Food & Drink Festival with the official launch of its cask lager, Storr.
The fledgling Birkenhead craft brewery stepped in as sole sponsor of the beer marquee.
The marquee will showcase beers from six craft brewers around Cheshire and Merseyside alongside Betwixt’s own range brewed by Mike McGuigan, including Storr.
Celebrating Wirral’s Viking history, this is an authentically brewed premium strength lager (4.8%abv).
Betwixt director Steve Briscoe said: “Although still a very young company, we were delighted to step in with sponsorship.
“The festival is a terrific event that shows off the very best of Wirral food and drink. It provides a great shop window for craft brewers and is the ideal place to spotlight our innovative new lager.”
Farmer Andrew Pimbley, who hosts the festival at Claremont Farm Bebington, said: “We were very pleased that Betwixt came to our aid.” The festival, in its fourth year, is on bank holiday Sunday and Monday.
Entry is £1 with children under five admitted free.
