Heswall’s Riverside Players will take to the stage at Port Sunlight’s Gladstone Theatre this month to present Pride and Prejudice

THE Riverside Players are set to move home, albeit temporarily.

The Heswall-based society will take to the stage at Port Sunlight’s Gladstone Theatre this month in its first full-length production outside Heswall in many years.

The players will present Pride and Prejudice from October 15-18 at 7.30pm.

Chairman Charles Riley said “We are delighted to be venturing further afield – and with such a classic story.

“It’s been a wonderful opportunity to put together a strong cast and crew, knowing that the performance venue will enhance the production and our already high standards.

“It has been fantastic to find current members and patrons in such support of the move but we do hope that it will open our society up to a whole new audience.”

Directors John Welshman and Ann Warr have both worked with the Riverside Players many times and bring their years of experience and magic touch to the classic tale.

Tickets are available from Linghams booksellers, Heswall; Fringes hairdressers, Irby; Waverley Newsagents, West Kirby. Alternatively, call 678 1696, or the box office at the Gladstone Theatre on 643 8757. Tickets are £6.

In November, and for the rest of their 2008/2009 season, the Riverside Players return to their regular home at Heswall Hall but are hoping this adventure into Port Sunlight will become a regular fixture in their calendar.
