HESWALL Round Table’s 50th year celebrations are gathering pace.
The summer saw members conquer the Welsh 3000 - all the mountains in Wales over 3,000 feet.
Apart from suffering bad weather and blisters, they raised a total of £5,000.
The money was presented to Heswall Disabled Children’s Holiday Fund on the night that Round Table hosted a barbecue for the finale of the week’s holiday for local disabled children.
Since then, inspired by the Olympics, Tablers had a go at rowing with Liverpool Victoria Rowing Club on the Birkenhead docks.
Upcoming events include a Come Dancing night on Saturday, September 27, when they will try to learn the steps of the TV stars, followed by a visit to a climbing wall in Liverpool on October 6.
These events are all leading to the 50th Charter Night, to be held at Thornton Hall on Friday, October 18. Former members of Heswall Round Table will be attending from far and wide to celebrate the anniversary.
