Pensby pub given one month to clean up its act

A PUB which police said was rife with anti- social behaviour has been given a month to comply with strict licensing conditions.

Wirral Council’s licensing committee said the Pensby Hotel, in Ridgewood Drive, must use tills which record the time of sales and install local authority-standard CCTV.

Police said their officers recorded after-hours sales at the pub and as recently as July the venue failed an under-age purchasing test.

Licensing sergeant Dave Peers said: “Aside from complaints from members of the neighbourhood, we know of several incidents of disorder.

“In December 2007 after-hours drinking was again perceived and the till roll proved inaccurate. There was even a report there were men inside the premises with firearms.”
