Cat loses leg in Pensby pellet gun horror

A PENSBY cat had to have her leg amputated after being shot with a pellet gun.

Two-year-old Suzy started limping after a stint of sunbathing on the pavement in front of her owners’ house in Pensby Road.

Catherine Johnson, 44, said: “She was fine in the morning when my husband Steve went to the shop. But when he came back, she was limping.

“When we took her to the vet we were told she’d been shot by a pellet and that her leg would have to be amputated.

“I was just so shocked - I don’t think people who do these things realise how much heartache they cause.”

Their son Thomas, 13, who goes to Pensby Boys’ School, and his friends are said to be extremely upset and shocked by the incident.

Catherine said: “I don’t know whether it is children who have hurt Suzy, but I think parents should be more aware of how dangerous these guns are when they are thinking about buying one for their child.”

Steve said: “I’m so angry that someone has done this to our cat.

“We can’t take our eyes off her now.

“She is trying to get out all the time and she tried to jump up on the porch where she used to sit, but she can’t.

“Everything has been made more difficult for her.”
