Death of passenger – driver charged

THE suspected driver of a stolen car which crashed into a tree appeared in court charged over the death of a teenage passenger.
The body of a 16-year-old youth was discovered in the wreckage of the vehicle in Hooton Road in Willaston.
Adam McGunnigle from Huyton was in the front passenger seat of the stolen Renault Megane which crashed on the dimly-lit road at around 1am on Tuesday last week.
Cheshire police confirmed that Adam Gouthwaite, 26, from Dacy Road Anfield,was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving while uninsured and aggravated vehicle taking.
He appeared before Chester magistrates and was remanded in custody to appear at Chester crown court.
