WE ARE very pleased to announce that Asda Arrowe Park has chosen us as one of its charities to support during February.
I popped down to the store last week to meet Ian Grant, the community life champion, and the store’s manager, Adele Quinn, to thank them for choosing us and to place the first green token in The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity box!
Don’t forget, when you are shopping there to make sure you collect your green charity tokens from the cashier when paying for your shopping and then pop the token into The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity token box near to the community noticeboard.
With your help we could be the winning charity and receive a large donation from Asda, which will help support some of the 28,000 patients we treat each year throughout the Cheshire and Merseyside region.
Over the past year, Asda Arrowe Park has been fantastic, supporting us through numerous collection days, bag packs, event stands and they regularly provide us with donations for raffle prizes and events.
We really appreciate their support and recognise they are putting something back to their community to support local cancer patients and families.
You’re never too young to start fundraising and this week I would like to say a big thank you to one of our youngest fundraisers: seven-year-old Curtis Harding from Oxton.
Curtis, who attends St Saviour’s Primary School, took it upon himself to support our charity by selling sweets as he “wanted to help patients feel better and be happier”.
He wrapped the sweets in beautiful gift wrapping and sold them to his friends and family, raising just over £25 for the charity. Just think... if all seven-year-olds within the local area raised £25 for us, we could generate tremendous support for our patients.
Did you know that for just £200 we can provide 10 sessions with our patient counsellor? This helps our patients to explore the feelings and anxiety that often occurs with a cancer diagnosis and during treatment.
It’s really easy to become involved with the charity, whether you’re an individual, a company or a seven-year-old like Curtis.
If you would like to help us with our fundraising, then please call the office on 0151 482 7948 and we can talk you through how to get you started. You can also visit our website: www.clatterbridgecc.org.uk.
