Each week the Wirral News will turn the spotlight on a local artist or photographer. You can submit your photographs atwww.wirralnews.co.uk/yourgallery. This week we feature Susan Brown...

Name: Susan Brown
Location: Bromborough
A WIRRAL-BASED multi- disiplinary artist, I paint in oils in a traditional style and create prints using various techniques.
Living on a coastline means that beach scenes and depictions of water feature quite a lot in my work. I work mainly in oils but other unusual paints, such as hammerite, figure as both a medium and background.
My original, limited edition prints use lino, perspex and collages as printing plates creating unique and modern work. I also create work using items that cannot be recycled.
I have work in collections around the globe, in quite a number of private homes and there are frequent exhibitions of my work.
I am currently a member of Dot- Art in Liverpool, and several Wirral groups: With These Hands, De-Junk Re-Junk, and Wirral Society of Arts.
I have recently given up my Liverpool studio and moved into studio space in Bromborough.
Because of my interest in the impact of art work in the environment, I am currently working with the Hoylake Art and Culture Trail and The Orchard Surgery in Bromborough, creating work to enhance the environment in places people would not necessarily expect art work.
I am also working with the eco aware environmental group, De- Junk Re-Junk, exhibiting at the Williamson in June, The National Exhibition of Wildlife Art, which is celebrating 20 years of highlighting the world’s wildlife in July, and the Heswall Arts Festival in October.
