RAIL police in Merseyside took part in two days of action to educate drivers and pedestrians about the dangers of level crossings.
The awareness drive focused on level crossings in Wirral and saw British Transport Police join forces with Network Rail, the Office of Rail Regulation, Merseyside Police and teachers from Wallasey School, to speak to local people about crossing safety.
The days of action, on Tuesday and Wednesday last week, saw officers visit crossings in and around Leasowe and Hoylake.
PC Wendy Simpson, of BTP’s Wirral Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Level crossings can be extremely dangerous when people take risks.”
