Merseyside student flying high after winning RAF scholarship

A BROMBOROUGH teenager is flying high after winning a Royal Air Force Scholarship.

Abigail Milner, 17, is one of 60 young people across the country to have won a place on the scheme, winning her £1,000 bursary and a taste of life in the forces.

A student of Wirral Grammar School for Girls, Abigail has just completed a week-long residential course with the RAF and is now even more keen to become an officer.

Several hundred young people apply for the scholarship every year from all over the United Kingdom.

Abigail, who is considering a career in military intelligence after studying technology at university, said: “The week was really tough, but I felt honoured to receive this scholarship and was prepared to work hard.

“The programme sets the bar high, but I am now even more keen to become an officer in the RAF.”

The residential course took place at the Bramley Lakes Adventure Training Centre near Norwich.
