Eastham ready to rock to pay tribute to soldiers killed in Afghanistan

A CONCERT in Eastham this Sunday will pay tribute to the borough's heroic fallen soldiers.

Eastham Rocks and Respects will remember Douglas Halliday, Alex Isaac and Steven Boote, from Wirral, as well as Martyn “Bobby”Horton from Runcorn and Dave Ramsden from Leeds, who were all killed in Afghanistan.

Acts playing from 12noon to 8pm include Firefly, Fallen Heroes, Bad Wolf, Redemption and Sugashed.

There will also be bouncy castles, face painting, donkey rides, charity stalls and a barbecue.

Proceeds from the day will go to the Mercian Regiment Benevolent Fund, Royal British Legion Bikers, the Army Benevolent Fund and Help for Heroes.

The event will take place at Old Anselmians Rugby Club on Eastham Village Road. Admission is £2 for adults and free for under 14s.
