TWO students from Wirral Grammar School for Girls enjoyed a taste of the X Factor after winning a competition to be roving reporters for the day.
Year 12 students Laura Condon and Hannah Mather-Coe spent a day behind the scenes of the hit ITV show at the Manchester auditions.
The girls were given a camera and exclusive access to the red carpet, judges’ rooms and VIP seats to watch the auditionees. Laura and Hannah met judges Gary Barlow from Take That, Louis Walsh, Tulisa from N-Dubz and US singer Kelly Rowland.
They also interviewed X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary and spin-off show Xtra Factor presenter Olly Murs and Caroline Flack.
Laura, 17, from Bebington, said the day was a “once-in-a- lifetime” experience.
The competition was advertised on the X Factor website and lucky winner Laura said: “ I still can’t believe it happened. Louis was particularly lovely and said he’s get us tickets for the finals.”
Their headteacher, Mrs Elaine Cogan, said: “Laura and Hannah are exemplary students and fine ambassadors for the school. We are all extremely pleased they were given such an amazing opportunity and look forward to seeing their work on the website and hopefully TV!”
