Aeronautical engineer scoops Miss Wirral title

AERONAUTICAL engineer, Louise Huntington was named Miss Wirral 2011 at Port Sunlight’s Gladstone Theatre last Wednesday.

The 22-year-old, who makes wings for the Airbus 380 at the company’s Broughton site, will now go on to the Miss England finals in Birmingham in July.

Wallasey student, Beth Greenham, 21, was second, while 20-year-old student, Emily Byrne, from Rock Ferry, came third.

All the participants competed in four catwalk fashion show categories; including sportswear, summer wear, black dress and sparkles and evening wear.

Lianne Nye, 22 from Rock Ferry claimed the Miss Charity Wirral award after raising £320 for the Variety Club’s Children’s Charity.

The winner of the public vote, and the Miss Popularity Wirral gong, went to 18-year-old student, Lizzie Hughes from Moreton.

As well as securing entrance to the Miss England finals, Louise also won £250 cash and a £500 portfolio package from Yaffe Fusion Art.
