A BUTCHER from Bromborough has won a prestigious award after impressing judges at the BPEX Product Evaluation Roadshow.

John Muff, deli manager and third generation of the family to be part of the business, said: ‘’We have around eight to ten pies available at any time. Our steak, ale and mushroom pie is one that we have been making for the last 3 years. It’s a popular product – who doesn’t love a traditional Steak and Ale Pie?’’
Muff’s were among 62 competitors from the North West to submit more than 260 products for judging.
The butcher won gold awards for their pork, ham and turkey pie with red current jelly and their beef and tomato sausages, among others.
Customers of the shop are said to be ‘’over the moon’’ about the awards.
BPEX butchery and product development manager Keith Fisher said: ‘The feedback from judges is that butchers in the region continue to raise the bar when it comes to producing fantastic meat products – Muff’s of Bromborough have clearly proven this and we congratulate them on their success.’’
