Peace poetry competition in memory of Wirral teenager

THE deadline for entering a poetry competition being held in memory of a Wirral schoolboy is fast approaching.

The Chris Salmon Poetry Extravanganza closes on Monday January 31.

It was set up in memory of talented poet Chris, 15, who was a pupil at Calday Grange grammar school, in West Kirby, Wirral. He died in February, 2009, as a result of the streptococcal virus.

The peace-themed competition is open to all teenagers from Wirral who are aged up to 18 years old.

Poems being entered for the competition should be no longer than 30 lines and must not exceed 500 words.

People can take part by entering by post to Greasby library or online at www.wirral- libraries.net/chris salmon or alternatively go to www.chrissalmon. org.uk
