EAGLE-EYED Cameron Casella turned detective when burglars broke into his home minutes after the family had gone out shopping.
Offenders broke into the Bromborough home, and stole valuable belongings including Elaine Owen’s engagement and wedding ring.
The incident took place one Saturday afternoon last month.
Within 15 minutes of the family leaving the home the burglars smashed a kitchen window to get in, and collected the family’s possessions.
Luckily neighbours were on hand to alert the police and the two offenders were caught nearby.
Police searched throughout the house and found the engagement ring in a skip but there was no sign of the wedding ring.
However, eight-year-old Cameron would not give up and eventually found the wedding ring – underneath a car!
His mum said: “I’m just so proud of him.” She went on to say how Cameron now has aspirations to become a detective and how this could ultimately change his life.
“It is also thanks to the community for alerting the police so fast that the incident was resolved.
“It is times like this the community comes together”.
