NHS Wirral is running free fitness and nutrition courses for overweight children.
The ten-week MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition..Do It!) courses are aimed at five to 13-year-olds who are above their ideal weight.
It will help youngsters and their families learn about food and how to eat healthily and discoverer fun ways to get fit.
Anne Tattersall, NHS Wirral’s head of health and wellbeing, said: “The MEND courses have proved a huge success.
“The instructors help children get involved in activities they enjoy while showing parents how some simple changes to diet and lifestyle can make a big difference to their children’s health.”
