Public meeting taking place in Bromborough this Friday on £10m regeneration plans for Wirral coastline

A PUBLIC meeting will discuss £10m regeneration plans for the coastline between Rock Ferry and Eastham.

The strategy is based around six projects aimed at improving access to the long-neglected stretch of coast.

They cover Rock Park, Shorefields Community Park, Bromborough landfill site, Wirral International Park and Eastham Country Park.

Wirral Council is also working with the Royal Mersey Yacht Club in Rock Ferry on plans to redevelop the club’s land and create a 100-berth marina which will give 24-hour access to the Mersey.

The improved sailing facilities would allow the club to bid to host national and international competitions.

The meeting will take place this Friday (January 22) from 5 to 7pm at Bromborough Civic Centre.

It will be chaired by Wirral South MP Ben Chapman.

Mr Chapman said: “Following on from the success of the last event, which gave key local stakeholders the chance to learn about plans for the development of the coastline, I am pleased that consultation has been opened up to my constituents and those, more widely, in Wirral.

“In my view, there is great benefit in discussing these local developments with those who it will predominantly affect.”
