Wallasey mum tells how she gave birth in middle of snow-hit gridlocked Wirral motorway

After 45 minutes an ambulance, carrying an asthma sufferer in the back, happened to pass by and Kevin flagged it down.

Maggie was Maria’s third baby.

The happy mum said: “I’m just getting over the shock. All I could think was ‘Hurry up. Someone help’.”

Birkenhead paramedic Carys Pattinson said: “The experience was fantastic. It’s always a privilege to deliver a baby but this experience was just amazing.

“I was so pleased we were there to help the family in such a stressful situation.”
