YOUTH service providers in Leasowe have joined together to improve the opportunities of young people in the area.
More than 75 people attended a Youth Charter presentation at Wallasey School recently, hosted by young people and headteacher Phil Duffy.
Assisted by Youth Charter founder, Geoff Thompson, participants discussed how to create and deliver a vision for a better future.
Kayleigh Barnes, 17, said: “We want to find ways of bridging the generation gap so that we can all communicate more effectively and bring our combined vision to reality.
“This partnership will really help us all understand each other better and make the most of resources coming into the area.”
Mary Quigg, managing director of Leasowe Community Homes said: “We all recognise that a strategic, joined up approach will reap massive benefits for the whole community.”
Geoff Thompson, executive chairman of Youth Charter, added: “A year ago I was invited to visit the Leasowe Community and shared with them a vision both real and achievable.
“A year on, real positive steps have been made.”
One step included hundreds of Leasowe residents taking part in a fun run over the summer.
