TWO construction firms have stepped in to help a children’s hospice hit by the credit crunch.
Wirral’s Claire House was forced to cut the working hours of all of its care staff by one-fifth, but Morgan Ashurst, based in Highfield Street, Liverpool, and D Morgan PLC have clubbed together to pay their physiotherapist’s salary for a year.
The Clatterbridge centre cares for terminally ill children provides respite for families, but had to reduce its costs after corporate donations fell from £450,000 to £200,000. Claire House’s running costs stand at £2.4m a year.
The two firms have joined forces to donate £20,000 to the hospice.
