Volunteering Wirral awarded £500,000 in three-year lottery funding

A WIRRAL volunteering charity has been awarded £500,000 in lottery funding.

The three-year award for Volunteering Wirral will be used to support groups like charities which rely on the help of volunteers.

The money will also go towards updating the Volunteering Wirral website.

Volunteering Wirral is jointly operated by Wirral CVS and Volunteer & Community Action Wirral (VCAW).

Angela Green from Wirral CVS said: “It’s fantastic news. We have waited a long time for funding to develop our service and to be able to offer volunteers the support they need to make their volunteering as positive an experience as possible.”
