WITH support from the North West Development Agency and the Mersey Basin Campaign, Peel Holdings have moved forward on their planning for the Mersey Tidal Power scheme, Peel representatives have told South Wirral MP Ben Chapman.
Mr Chapman said this week: “This is an issue where the issues of sustainable energy and investment need to balance against scale, visual and physical intrusion and the effect on wildlife.
“As the process moves forward, Wirral residents will need to make their views known.”
Peel’s Development Manager for Marine Power, Anthony Hatton, said: “We were pleased to provide an update on our progress on the Power from the Mersey project.Š
“We are currently undergoing a process of selecting a team which will continue the f work which was undertaken in last year’s study.
“Once the team is in place, by early summer, we will continue the dialogue with the communities and other interested parties along the Mersey.”
