South Wirral MP helps to make a difference

THE MP for Wirral South, Ben Chapman, spent time at a Barnardo’s store as part of the charity’s Make a Difference campaign which aims to encourage local people to volunteer within their community.

He went along to the shop in Lower Bebington to man the tills and help out the volunteers working in the store.

Manager Dawn Rowlands said: “The Make a Difference Day is a wonderful way to encourage people to become involved with volunteering.

“If people are not able to volunteer, then donations of unwanted clothes, shoes and books are always welcome. If you wish to donate money to the charity then its best to do it via gift aid as this is counted as a tax free.”

Mr Chapman added: “ I was impressed by the hard work and dedication of the volunteers who donate their own time to run the shop and raise money for the children’s charity.”
