Fire crews attend chemical spill at Birkenhead factory

FIRE crews were called to a chemical spill at a Merseyside meat packing factory.

Around 400 litres of ferrous sulphate leaked into a drainage system at an industrial unit belonging to Birkenhead firm Tranfoods. The chemical was not hazardous.
