TWO men accused of robbing a convenience store armed with a fake handgun and a knife were remanded in custody.
Wayne Jackson, 39, of Newport Close, Prenton, and Sean Flaherty, 25, of Carr Bridge Road, Birkenhead, are accused of taking part in a robbery at McColl’s general store on Holmlands Drive in Birkenhead.
They were charged with robbery, possession of imitation firearm while committing an offence and possession of a knife in public place on February 29.
Both men appeared at Wirral Magistrates Court but spoke only to confirm their names and addresses.
Jackson made no application for bail and Flaherty’s application for bail was refused.
Chairman of the magistrates Ian Matthews remanded both men in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on June 8.
