Montse Benitez Foundation donates £4,000 to Wirral Society of The Blind and Partially Sighted

THE wife of former Liverpool FC manager Rafa Benitez is supporting a new project in Wirral.

The Montse Benitez Foundation presented the Wirral Society of The Blind and Partially Sighted with a cheque for £4,000.

The couple were welcomed to Ashville Lodge Resource Centre in Birkenhead along with Linda Weston, trustee and secretary, to see the work the charity is doing.

The money will furnish and equip a kilning studio.

Members are beginning a business enterprise where they will use skills they have studied on a pottery and ceramics course. They plan to make marketable unique and customised products to sell to boost the charity.

Lynne Sedgwick, development officer at the society, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for us to build a productive and successful enterprise.

“The Montse Benitez Foundation has given us the support needed for a positive start to our project.”
