Local artist Jenny Dunlop showcases her fun and quirky creations with mixed media at Wirral gallery

A FUN and quirky artist from Wirral has been busy developing her canvas creations to showcase at a local gallery.

Mum-of-three Jenny Dunlop has been rushed off her feet finishing off her inspirations to put in an exhibition at Staacks in West Kirby.

Titled ‘Away with the birds’, the pieces of art work are now showing there and will run until the end of December.

Living in West Kirby, Jenny has a degree in textiles and fashion design, and creates all kinds of things from paper, thread, fabric, felt and crystal gems.

Jenny, who is originally from Northern Ireland, told the News: “I use mixed media. I start with water colours and then add vintage and recycled fabrics to build up layers and give it some depth. I also include some stitching as well in the design. I like doing birds, but it varies depending on my mood. I’ve done a picture of the Liver building and added my own twist.”

Staacks on Banks Road have been selling her work for the last two years and this is her second solo exhibition there. Her art work ranges from £65 to £200.

Jenny added: “I am excited to be back at Staacks and this new collection of work continues on from last year.

“I get inspiration from my children and how they look at life, and from my travels when I was younger through various cultures, wildlife and colour.

“I my want my creations to put a smile on people faces and make then laugh.”
