KEY stakeholders in a £10m plan to transform the coastline between Rock Ferry and Eastham will learn more about the development next week.
Wirral South MP Ben Chapman is chairing a launch event for the Mersey Coastal Park Strategy at Royal Mersey Coast Yacht Club in Rock Ferry on Friday, December 4.
Local councillors, council officers and representatives from English Heritage, Natural England and the Mersey Partnership have been invited.
Council plans include refurbishing the esplanade at Rock Ferry and linking it to a walk/cycle way up to Eastham. The project could also see an exit road from and to the A41 bypass which would improve access to that area of coastline.
Mr Chapman said: “The event will give them an opportunity to learn about the massive changes that are taking place on the Wirral coastline as well as providing them with an opportunity to comment on it and suggest how things should move from here.
“Obviously, it will take a while for everything to come together but the benefits to Wirral in the long-run, in terms of tourism, economy and environment could be great”.
