Wirral’s Landican crematorium wants to “recycle” heat generated by cremations for fuel

Officers believe any objections to the scheme will be easily outweighed by the huge environmental benefits.
Currently, the cremators use 70 cubic metres of gas per cremation, but the new ones would cut that figure to 25-30 cubic metres.
It equates to slashing Wirral’s carbon output by 255 tonnes a year.
