ALMOST 100 wannabe alien fighters descended on Spaceport this week.
The intrepid candidates had to prove they had the skills to fight off nasty extra terrestrials.
The selected alien fighting marines must protect the public when they visit Alien Wars, at Spaceport, Seacombe, later this month.
The show, which promises to deliver a unique and terrifying experience, was created in 1992 and inspired by the real Alien films.
The first fighter to audition was John Haig, 40, of Seacombe.
He believes he is the perfect fighting machine and can take on any rampaging entity.
Also taking part was Joe Bolton, 22, of Bebington. He said: “I couldn’t resist the opportunity to become a real alien fighter – what a job that would be.”
The creator of Alien Wars, Garry Gillies, 53, said:
“The public think Alien Wars is a show, but the alien is real, so we need real fighters in the pod to protect everybody.”
