Wirral man slashed in Kingdom cocktail bar on night out in Liverpool city centre

A WIRRAL man was slashed in the face in a Liverpool city centre bar.

Drinkers in Kingdom, in Harrington Street, looked on in horror as the blood-soaked victim staggered away from his attacker in the early hours of Sunday after an argument.

The 31-year-old was slashed from his eyebrow to his jaw by a thug using what police believe was a Stanley or craft knife.

He was recovering at home today after undergoing five hours of surgery earlier this week.

Detectives have seized CCTV footage from the bar.

The thug was white, around 5ft 8ins tall and slightly overweight.

It is thought that he was wearing a dark jacket over a white shirt and arrived with a woman before they both sat in a booth.

Police have spoken to the victim and appealed for anyone who was in the cocktail bar at around 2am on Sunday to come forward.

Anyone with information should contact police on 0151 777 4064 or the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555111.
